Simple Vocabulary is a browser extension that helps users save and review words while browsing. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and your rights.
Only one personal data field is collected: the email address of the Google account currently signed into Chrome (accessed via Chrome Identity API). We use this email solely to associate saved vocabulary with the correct user account.
The email is used only to link and synchronize the user's saved word list and training progress across devices. We do not use the email for marketing, analytics, or any third-party advertising.
We do not sell or share your email with advertisers or data brokers. The extension communicates with backend services (for example, cloud storage or translation APIs) only to save and retrieve the user's vocabulary and to provide translations when explicitly requested by the user. Any remote backend used is described in the extension listing; none of those services receive the email for marketing purposes.
Saved words and associated data are retained until the user deletes them or requests account/data removal. If you request deletion, we will remove your data from our systems within a reasonable timeframe and confirm completion by email.
We take reasonable measures to protect stored data (encryption in transit and at rest where supported by the backend). However, no system is completely secure; if a security incident occurs we will notify affected users in a timely manner and take corrective action.
You may request access, correction, or deletion of your data. To do so, contact us at the address below. You can also clear saved words directly from the extension UI.
Install the extension, perform the CTRL (or CMD on Mac) + Double-Click action to save a word, then open the popup to confirm the saved word appears. The saved words are linked to the Google account currently signed into Chrome.
